T. Michael Studios Slate Trays are made from slate shingles harvested from historic barns and buildings in Ohio. Timothy Kelly, a slate mason and the founder of T. Michael Studios, takes great care with every detail. The cast iron handles he adds are both decorative and useful for serving. The rubber stoppers he places on the bottom of each shingle protect any surface the tray is placed on. The date that the slate was originally used is carved into the tray, helping to keep its history alive, and each tray comes with a tag that describes the slate's history. This is a unique serving tray, great for serving bread at the table and cheese for appetizers.
